Diving at Tulamben – The Tulamben Liberty ship wreck is a must do for any divers going to Bali. The wreck is humongous (120 m) and is a fantastic playground to explore.
If you are a beginner diver it is a unique opportunity to scuba dive a world class wreck dive site. If you are an experienced diver try to go further to the deeper part of the wreck around 35 m deep and look at the wonderful bow gun covered with Coral. It is a great photo opportunity! Moreover for macro lovers you can also find the rare pygmy seahorse in the area.
All over the wreck you will spot schooling fishes, trevallies and barracudas looking for their next meal and Blacktip Reef Sharks patrolling the area. On the sandy part, watch the garden Eels dance and try to spot the giant Sweetlips often there

Kubu Monkey reef
Type: Shore Dive

Depth: 5 – 30 meters
Kubu is a little town just 5 minutes from Tulamben but is quickly making a name for itself as a new diving destination. Monkey reef is a beautiful coral reef, similar to what is to be found in Amed. It’s a good alternative if Tulamben gets way too crowded and you want to do a nice, relaxing dive without hundreds of divers around. Expect a nice, gentle reef with all the usual (and unusual) critters.
Kubu Shipwreck ‘Boga’
Type: Shore Dive
Level: All Levels
Current: Mild
Depth: 10 – 30 meters
The Boga is a brand new dive site. In September 2012, the Boga was sunk just off the coast of Kubu, about 5 min away from the USS Liberty. The 85m long vessel lays between 18 and 30m, so it’s a wreck only accessible for people holding and Advanced certification. No real coral growth on the wreck yet, but the many Buddhist statues, the car and many other details make this a very interesting, fun new dive site. Just keep track of your no deco time.
